4. Power to alter countervailing duties on imported goods in certain cases. THE MINERAL OILS (ADDITIONAL DUTIES OF EXCISE AND CUSTOMS) AMENDMENT ACT, 1959 ACT NO. 59 OF 1959 [24th December, 1959.] An Act to amend the Mineral Oils (Additional Duties of Excise and Customs) Act, 1958

Where any duty of customs on any of the goods specified in section 2 of the principal Act became leviable under the Indian Tariff Act, 1934 (32 of 1934), for the period commencing on the 1st day of April, 1959, and ending on the 31st day of October, 1959, by reason of the fact that under that Act such duty, being the excise duty for the time being leviable on like goods if produced or manufactured in India, has to be added to, or levied as, the duty of customs, the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct that the duty of customs on any of the said goods for the said period shall be such as may be specified in the notification. 1.
